Christmas wedding at the Crown Hotel, Wetheral, near Carlisle, Cumbria

Fiona and Matt met in 2013, when Fiona assisted Matt with visitor information at Cumbria’s museum of military life.  After talking for a while they exchanged numbers and a few weeks later went on their first date.  A couple of years later they went on their trip of a lifetime to China and Japan where after trying loads of fun activities, including tobogganing down the great wall of china, eating starfish and meeting Geisha, Matt proposed in the beautiful old capital of Japan, Kyoto.

So why a December wedding in the cold you might ask?  They both love colder climates and so their favourite time of year is winter.  As both of them also love Christmas so much they decided December would be perfect for them.  Their theme was sparkle and snowflakes with an ice blue and silver colour palette.

The Crown Hotel in Wetheral was chosen due to the stunning venue and beautiful grounds.  After looking around they were taken both by the venue and how accommodating and welcoming Mr Paul Hicks from the hotel was.  The venue had the required number of rooms for all of the out of town guests and also had the Beauty Room and leisure club on site to take care of the make up and pampering requirements.

After a Google search for a Cumbrian wedding photographer Fiona and Matt came across the work of Keltic Rose Photography.  They loved the style of the photos and the way that Keltic Rose Photography captured the small detail of the wedding as well as all the main details.
