Meet Boots who came in for a pet photoshoot

Portrait Photography

“Could I take photos of a Chug?”  I was asked by a friend.  First I had to look up what a chug was, I knew it was a type of crossbreed dog but I couldn’t remember if it was a big or small dog.  It turned out that it is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Pug so quite a small dog with a whole load of energy.

The photo shoot happened when Boots was eight weeks old. His owner Nya brought him along to the Keltic Rose Photography photo studio in Denton Holme, Carlisle along with a couple of Boot’s toys and at the last moment Nya also brought a biscuit tin in the shape of a cup and saucer.  She recalls that she nearly didn’t bring the biscuit tin because she was convinced that Boots wouldn’t go near it.  Nya also brought some dog treats and a few cold Mcdonalds fries which Boots had taken a liking to the night before when Nya’s daughter had brought her tea home.

It’s fair to say that the puppy photo shoot was loads of fun, trying different things over and over to see if we could capture some special images.  Nya spent most of the photoshoot picking Boots up, cuddling him to reassure him and then placing him where we wanted for the photo.  Boots took it all in his stride and thought it was a game.  One of his favourite games seemed to be find the cold Mcdonalds fries in the biscuit tin.  It was while playing these games that we managed (after a bit of patience) to get the following photos:
