Birthday Cake Smash photo session in Carlisle
Little M’s mum first got in touch about a cake smash photo session early in January and after a couple of emails, we booked in a date for the photo session around little one’s birthday in July. This year then went a bit odd and up until a few days before the session, I wasn’t sure if the law would allow us to do an indoor photo session.
Thankfully the session was able to go-ahead with quite a few extra COVID-secure safety measures including filling in a track and trace form, taking people’s temperature along with masks being worn by everyone that isn’t getting photographed. The amazing Made with Love by Sarah Guest created a fantastic cake with nice soft icing so that it can easily be scooped up by tiny hands and of course eaten by tiny mouths.
My Cake Smash photo sessions are held in Denton Holme Carlisle in a large studio. This gives lots of space for everything to happen and of course at the moment for social distancing. The first part of the session is with a white background this gives some timeless memories for parents to put on the wall
Then it’s time to move on to the themed cake smash background. For Baby M we went for a pink background, along with pink honeycomb balls and a string of polka dot flags. The little one wasn’t that sure at first, here she was sat in front of a cake.
After a little bit of time, and the help of a large wooden spoon she started to dig into the cake and of course started to get messy, and to make mum messy as mum helped her back on the background when she crawled off.
